The Morning GiftThis is my second Ibbotson book, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. Although I felt some parts were slow going and pointless (heini’s pov), I still completely loved the plot and couldn’t put it down. Quin’s character wasn’t very endearing to me, but I found my self crying out for Ruth who had to deal with so many hardships and pain. This story reminded me of the story my grandmother told me about my great grandparents. My great grandma was a jew in germany during wwii and my great grandpa a nazi soldier. He saved her from an internment camp and brought her to America where they made their place in California. Loved the book, and will definitely be reading it again.
